ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the
Braxton County Commission of Sutton,
WV will accept sealed bids for the reno-
vation of the tennis courts located at
Holly Gray Park, 401 Holly Gray Ddve,
Sutton, West Virginia.
Phase 1: Remove not posts, fill and
repair all surface cracks on existing
court; overlay existing courts and place
variable thickness course of asphalt
to bdng new courts surface up to levef
of existing courts.
Phase 2: Add onto existing (10 tennis
court fence to enclose new courts with
entrance gate.
Phase 3: Apply needed coats of pdmer
and needed coats of surface color
paint, install new not posts, new nets
and paint court lines.
Sealed bids will be received by the
Braxton County Commission, Post
Office Box 486, 300 Main Street, Sutton,
WV 26601, until 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday,
May 31,2011. Bids received after that
time will not be accepted. All sealed
bids will be opened and reed aloud at
the regular County Commission Meet-
ing on June 3, 2011 at 9.1)0 a.m. Inter-
ested parties are invited to attend.
A Pre-Bid Conference will be held at
10:00 a.m. May 20= 2011, at the tennis
courts, located at Holly Gray Park,
Sutton, West Virginia. ATTEN-
DANCE IS MANDATORY.
A certified check or bank draft,
payable to the Braxton County
Commission, or satisfactory bid
bond executed by the bidder
and acceptable sureties in an
amount equal to five percent
(5%)of the bid must be submit-
ted with each bid. The success-
ful bidder will be required to fur-
nish satisfactory performance
and payment bonds signed by
a West Virginia Agent.
The Braxton County Commis-
sion will negotiate with the con-
tractor to determine the method
of contract surety best suited
for the project. Bids must be
made on a lump sum basis.

Bidde'r must comply with Title VI

Bidders must comply with the
requirements for affirmative ac-
tion and Minority Business En-
terprise participation as de-
scribed in the Contract Docu-.
ments. Special provision will be
made by the bidder to show what
portions of the bid within each
division are supported by Minor-
ity Business Enterprise work. In
addition, may obtain, upon re,
quest, information concerning
local MBE firms.
No bid shall be withdrawn for a
period of ninety (90) days after
the time of bid opening without
the consent of the Braxton
County Commission. The

serves the right to reject any or
all bids and waive any irregu-

The West Virginia Department of Trans-
portation, Division of Highways re-
serves the dght to defer, delay or post-
pone the date for receiving and pub-

out the necessity of renewing such ad-
vertisement. All bidders holding valid
bidding proposals will be notifies of such
deferment, delay or postponement
and the date that proposals will be

Each Bidder must be registered
with the West Virginia Department

All bidders are required to be licensed
to perform work in the State prior to
submitting a bid for this project as re-
quired by Chapter 21, Article 11, of the
Code of West Virginia. Each Bidder's

The Board of Education of the County
of Braxton, Sutton, WV reserves the
right to reject any or all bids.
A satisfactory bid bond furnished by a
solvent surety company authodzed to

the Braxton County Board of Educa-
tion, shall be submitted with each Bid.
Each (The) successful bidder will be
